Clarification on statement question is asking about

Is the question asking about this sentence: The theories produce the right results: therapeutically, they tend to have greater success than their more scientific rivals. And if it is, is this considered to be a premise? Is it fair to say that the conclusion isn't spelled out but the counter statement that says -- however this is not important--allows you to rephrase the first sentence to form the conclusion?

    Hi @Shirnel, Thanks for the question! The question is asking bout that sentence, and I would say that that sentence is a premise. I would say the “however, this is not really important” sentence is basically the conclusion in conjunction with the first sentence, as you seem to suggest. The conclusion seems to be something along the lines of “though many psychological theories are poor theories in some ways, they produce the right results, which is what counts.” Hope this helps!
