I am having trouble with wording in the answer choices.
For this question I have the conclusion: psychological theories have right results b/c they have a greater therapeutic success than scientific rivals. That they have greater success than their scientific counterparts to me works to only further the argument that they have the right or better results...

Alright, we need to ask ourselves what the critic is trying to tell us/prove to us. The answer to that will be our main point. The critic is trying to get across the point that the fact that many popular psychological theories are poor theories is not really important.
Why? Because regardless of the fact that they are inelegant and do not help dispel the mystery that surrounds our psyche, therapeutically, they tend to have greater success than their more scientific rivals. Thus, the statement "they tend to have greater success than their more scientific rivals" works to thwart any comments or considerations that could oppose them, i.e. the fact that they are poor theories due to their inelegant quality and that they "do not help dispel the mystery that surrounds our psyche."
