How do you know when to skip a speaker in the stimulus?

I saw somewhere that it is always advisable to read the stimulus before the question stem. However, the responses that include multiple speakers sometimes mention to skip a particular speaker due to irrelevance. How would I know to skip a speaker if I have to read the stimulus first? Which saves more time, reading the stimulus and possibly reading a part that is not necessary to answer the question or reading the question stem first then focusing on what is necessary to answer the question?

You likely saw responses from different tutors who have different approaches to this question type. Some read the stimulus first, others read the question stem first. I personally read the stimulus first, but I don't believe it makes much of a difference either way. In this case, I would have read both arguments, and then ignored the art critic after seeing the question specifically about the curator. If you feel like this was a waste of time, then you can try reading the question stem first. However, read very carefully so that you don't skip a relevant argument.
You are right that you can't employ both of these strategies here, so you will have to decide what works best for you. I support a personalized approach to this test.
