Why my answer is wrong?

The excerpt from the stimulus ", and traits that breeders do not try to maintain risk being lost, certain traits like herding ability risk being lost among pedigreed dogs", prompted me to choose the answer that I did that- the "certain traits like herding ability risk being lost among pedigreed dogs" plays the role of a support to a claim earlier made (which is, "and traits that breeders do not try to maintain risk being lost"). I do not understand why my answer is wrong. Please explain.
