Suspected typo

Hello! I noticed that the conclusion says "disinterested concern for scientific truth". I am assuming that is a typo, because disinterest seems to be opposite of concern in my opinion. I was still able to get the answer right, but that word tripped me up for a minute. Is this a typo? Concern for scientific truth would make perfect sense to me based on the main point of the argument. If it is not a typo, can you please explain what disinterested concern for scientific truth would mean?

I get that the argument is implying that the economic theorists obviously know that manufacturers often manipulate consumers and demand. That being said, it would then make sense that they DID have a disinterested concern for scientific truth, right? As in they knew that this (manufacturers responding to consumer needs/demands) isn't true, but they still push that idea anyways.
