So the author assuming at the beginning that if Joan had gotten an A on her paper then she would not have to do the class presentation if the flaw of the argument?

    Hi @Anthony-Resendes, Thanks for the question! The flaw os the argument is that there’s a mistaken negation. The premises are: Gets A —> Passes without doing class presentation ~ Gets A Conclusion: ~Passes without doing class presentation (B) is a very convoluted way of getting at this mistaken reversal. Basically, the argument presupposes ~ Gets A —> ~Passes without doing class presentation, since it can’t get that from the premises it already has. Hope this helps!
