I believe the reason it was described as out of scope is because the passages deals with disliking elderly people based on their age, rather than just disliking elderly people in general. Perhaps it being out of scope is up for debate, but it is not a correct paraphrasing of the idea in the passage and more importantly it is not the concluding point of the passage.
