What is wrong with E?

Hello! While I chose the right answer, I am not entirely sure why E is wrong. Does it have to do with this choice comparing objectivity although that is not explicitly mentioned in the argument?

Hi @Samirah, Thanks for the question! (E) is wrong because the senator doesn’t have to assume this. The senator doesn’t necessarily have to assume that ALL studies commissioned by his party are MORE objective than the administration’s. He would really only have to care about this one study. And there’s a question if he even has to care about this one study, since really, all he cares about is if his study can win over his colleagues. As you may have learned from recent events, you shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking that politicians only care about the truth . . . Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

That makes sense. Thanks for your help, Shunhe!
