"Author would agree with"

I am struggling with this type of question in reading comp. What type of question is this? Are these questions must be true questions, based off of evidence in the passage, or do we use the evidence in the passage to make an inference? (extension questions?) Any help would be appreciated so I can better know how to approach these.
