What does Answer Choice (B) even mean?

Hi JonJay, This is one of the trickiest answer choices- before this question I had never heard the expression "to point up," and a lot of students struggle with B. Having the benefit of google, I can say that "points up" means brings attention to- so this is saying that it brings attention to a contrast from which a conclusion is drawn by example. That said, we do not have the benefit of google, so as a test-taker, we would probably have to figure this out from context. I think that we could see that this is an argument by analogy. While I wouldn't know what ``points up'' means, I could read B as "it [uses/points/something?] by example a contrast from which a conclusion is drawn. While I would not be very confident, this version of B does seem like it is describing an argument by analogy- which matches the passage.
