Boiled cow's milk makes less vitamin C available to infants than does the same amount of mother's milk. How do we know / compare The same amount of milk?

Hi, here we have two groups: cow and breast fed infants. We are told that one group underwent a change, and that after the cow group underwent this change (boiling) the cow group saw a rise in scurvy. However, the other group did not see a rise in scurvy. This strongly suggests that the cause of the rise in scurvy was that parents started boiling milk. While it doesn't prove it (perhaps at the same time, a change in how cows were fed simply led to cows having less vitamin C in their milk) the result does indeed support the idea that the switch to boiling somehow led to less vitamin C.
