I got this question right, but was confused due to typically being taught in these lessons that over broadness assumes too much. Regarding this question, wouldn't it be too broad to assume that the principle applying to parents applies to all people?

Hi RachP,
Good catch about broadness/narrowness. However, we would not be assuming that a principle that applies to parents applies to all people, but we would be assuming that a principle that applies to all people. In other words, we would not be assuming that a narrow principle applies to a broad category, but that a broad principle applies to a narrow category.
Surely we would consider the set of patents to be within the set of all people, so if we have a principle about what everyone should do, then we could conclude what parents should do based on that principle that applies to parents and non-parents alike.
