"Many people who criticize etiquette are mistaken about its beneficial effects for society." The people who criticize etiquette don't believe it has any beneficial effects so how can they be mistaken about them?

    Hi, one possible mistaken belief about something is that it doesn't exist at all. If I don't believe the moon exists, I hold a mistaken belief about the moon.
