How is it that A does not parallel the prompt? Both situations make the assumption that repeated exposure to a thing will necessarily result in a favorable opinion of that thing

Great question.
The stimulus has two flaws.
1 Just because aspartame is sweeter than sugar does not mean that drinks sweetened by aspartame are sweeter than drinks sweetened by sugar.
2 They assume that people who regularly consume beverages sweetened by aspartame will develop preferences for extremely sweet products
I believe that you are suggesting that answer choice A contains that second flaw.
The problem with A is that it actually does not contain anything about repeated exposure. Rather, it says if you dislike a new food you will eventually develop a preference for it, presumably even if you never eat it. This is still flawed, but it is based on time ("eventually develop a preference”) as opposed to repeated exposure (“regularly drink soft drinks”).
Hope this helps!
