Hello,
I generally have some trouble with this question type, most likely because there are so many working parts. Is there any approach you might suggest that would help narrow down answer choices, or help to anticipate this answer? As as, I take short notes about the content of each paragraph. Would it be beneficial to assess the structure while reading? Or do this only if the question is presented?
Thanks!

@Lucie Maybe I can help!
I would recommend trying to think about how the argument is proceeding while you're reading it. In addition to the short content notes you're taking, I would suggest taking a quick step back to decipher what role that content plays in the overall structure. Tracking arguments is usually especially helpful.
Once you finish reading the entire passage and see this question, I would recommend trying to think of how you would answer it BEFORE looking at the answer choices given. Sometimes these can mislead you if you haven't taken a second to synthesize your thoughts beforehand.
Most importantly though, I would recommend practicing more of these questions and thoroughly reviewing each answer choice and why it was correct or incorrect afterwards. The more familiar you become with this question type, the easier it should be to recognize the patterns of reasoning used.
Does that make sense? Let us know if you have any additional questions or would like a breakdown of this specific question. Best of luck with your studies!
