Why is B correct? Why is E incorrect?

Hi @Ryan-Mahabir, The problem with (E) is the usage of the phrase "illustrated effectively," since the author clearly doesn't think that it is illustrated effectively, which he/she argues throughout the entire passage. (B), however, points out the fact that the author sees a questionable premise (as seen as line 13) and a misleading approach (the second to last paragraph). Hope this helps!
