Why is D correct? Why is B incorrect?

@Ryan-Mahabir, (B) is incorrect because even though the author suggests that they traveled in prescribed pathways, we cannot tell whether they were the first people to do it or just one of many. (D) is correct because according to one of the theories, wilderness was a motivating concept for establishing pathways, thus allowing us to conclude that they must have possessed a concept of wilderness.
