Please explain how C is illustrates the main point as opposed to D and A?

    what is the distinct class of cases that the old research does not apply to? It seems that both researches were attempting to explain superior performance in competitive activities. Whereas the old research attributes it to innate ability, the new research attributes superior performance to intense training, desire and interest.
