Why is the answer D and not A. Since the passage says the artists were aesthetically conservative

    @Zahra n this case, A goes too far. We don’t know if Gilliam believes there should be no restrictions, just that he believed he could go beyond representational aesthetics into more abstract art. D, on the other hand, is directly supported by lines 48 on, which discuss how his Color Field art was able to show complex human experiences and feelings, especially those of the African American community.
