I was under the impression that the statement that follows "unless" is the necessary condition. And the statement before is to be negated. In your example you entered the statement after unless as the sufficient condition. What am I missing?

Hi, I'm not seeing the explanation unfortunately, but I think there is an easier way to think about unless statements. I would try to replace the "unless" with the phrase "If not" since they mean effectively the same thing, but if not is much easier to understand.
