I'm confused

If three children are assigned to boat 1, then that means it can only have 1 adult, and that boat 2 will consist of 2 adults and 2 children. Thus, F would have to be in boat 2 given the first rule, thereby placing G in boat 2 as well. As a result, H is the only adult left for boat 1. So how can the correct pair for boat 2 contain H?

    Hi @Winklerd95@gmail.com, Thanks for the question! So as you said, there are three children in boat 1 and thus 1 adult, and boat 2 will have 2 adults and 2 kids. However, only G must be in boat 2, F doesn’t have to be in boat 2 necessarily. So the adult in boat 1 is either F or H. Now, as to your broader question: note that the right answer is (C), H and W. Which is a child and H. Since H can be on boat 1, and W is one of the children that can be on boat 1, it makes perfect sense! Hope this helps!
