Why is C correct and D wrong?

I have the same question as the above! Please explain the correct answer. Thanks!

The passage and C are both explicitly about members of a group having an attribute. While D wrongly applies something from each individual to a set, this is slightly different. In D, it wrongly moves from the individual to the set, while in C and the argument, it wrongly moves from the set to the individual.
