Hello,
I understand that this is a muti-linear game. I'm just confused about how we know to separate the subject and fall/spring in their lines rather than just separating the fall and spring into their lines. When I set this game up I didn't quite understand what it was saying so I assumed we separated spring and fall. Can please explain how we know to separate the subjects and place the seasons together in their own lines?

Hi, I would generally be willing to say that whenever you have multiple variables that are in play in addition to ordering (eg the season, subject and the order) I would consider setting that game up as multi linear. That said, there's no reason that you couldn't set this up at a standard linear game, and make the seasons a subscript or superscript. There is no one "right" diagram that works for everyone, but rather there is the diagram that works best for you. I think that most people will have the most success treating this game as multi linear since there are two variables rather than one, but that is not a must.
