Why is C the correct answer?

The most confusing part of this passage to me was the final paragraph where Leskey’s position was discussed. I chose b as my answer by guessing. Can someone break down Rivier’s versus Lesky and explain why C is correct?

Hi, I think Rs position is best summed up in the final sentence of the second paragraph, that there is no real choice and that the protagonist simply has to recognize that there is no real choice.
We are told that L disagrees, and thinks that the protagonist does choose a path according to their own desires, albeit one that is constrained by the gods (lines 50-54).
This shows us why c is correct, we know that r thinks there is no choice, but that l thinks one's desires impact the path one takes.
More generally in RC, it is always worth it to make an effort to at least summarize the views of the people mentioned.
