What is C wrong and D right? Very hard time understanding this question.

    I am in doubt about question 9 not 10 just to clarify.

    C is correct because it offers an explanation for the seeming contradiction of the centipedes being found next to water dwellers: the land was occasionally wet, but mostly dry. D does not offer any such explanations, there is no reason for me to think the paleontologists would agree with it.
