How'd you arrive at A as the correct answer?

    @Meredith, The author uses the second paragraph to provide a specific example of how property law - a subset of common law - can be used to provide a basis for some claims. This is supported by lines 24-28 "common law may provide a basis for some Native American claims.... Property law, for example..." The author explicitly tells us that property law is an EXAMPLE used to illustrate the statement that "common law may provide a basis." Hence we can conclude that (A) is the correct answer.

    @irina, it is not clear to me how I was supposed to know that property law is an example of common law. this is why i selected the answer that is about property law. this is not super clear to me why that is wrong.

    @irina, never mind. i reread it and I understand why this paragraph is about illustrating an how common law can be used. it's however not super obvious why it is abundantly wrong that it is not saying that it's about showing that property law can be used in most disinterment cases, however, i do see that the common law answer is MORE correct.
