(D) is wrong because Posner only argues that "legal interpretation aims at discovering a single meaning" in the context of his critic that literary criticism is helpful in interpreting the law not that legal analysis is useful in interpreting literature as the question requires. @denleybishop, B does not work because while we do not know how often law is used in literature, we do know that Posner thinks that most of the time it comes up, it is used to convey something else. We don't know if that something else is important or not, so we can toss B.
