Couldn't understand the question stem

Hi, I'm having a hard time understanding what it means by "answer'' the question stem. This questions states, "It can be inferred that the objections raised by the critics mentioned in line 18 would be most clearly answered by United States Supreme Court decision that." What does "answered" mean here? Does it mean the correct answer choice should provide a scenario that rebuts the objections raised by the critics? Or, does it mean the correct answer choice should provide a scenario that conforms to the objections in line 18? Thank you so much!

It would be a rebuttal. We can tell this from the way it is phrased; to answer an objection is to respond to, or counter that objection.
