I narrowed it down to C and E and chose E. I read the previous thread on why C is correct. Could you explain why E is not correct, please?

Answer choice E reads "If melatonin were helpful in treating insomnia, then every person with insomnia who took doses of melatonin would appear to be significantly effected by it."
The thing is, we don't know anything about how people with insomnia react to melatonin because we have no data about it. This principle does nothing to the argument because it cannot be applied.
