What is the difference between C and E?

I chose C because it mentions scholars discussing the "harm" that slavery enforced to AA. I narrowed it down to C and E and I get why E is right but would like to hear why C is more wrong.

Answer choice (C) is incorrect because there is nothing in the passage to suggest that the author believes that the institution of slavery encompassed the least eventful periods in African American history.
Rather, the author's critique is that scholars have focused too heavily on harms as opposed to achievements.
