I do not understand how the answer is C. In lines 10-11 it describes the supply side as "the qualities immigrant groups bring with them for competition." This to me would make me think it would be A. Can you please explain the 5 answer choices?

I also selected answer choice A and am confused as to why the answer is C. Any help would be great!

Hi there, thanks for your posts.
The passage describes the "supply side" as including "the qualities immigrant groups bring with them for competition in the United States" (10-12) and "differences in immigration pattern and family formation [which] resulted in different rates of socioeconomic achievement" (28-30).
Answer choice (A) has nothing to do with this - the concentration of small businesses in a given geographical area is more relevant to the DEMAND side ("the market condition of the immigrants' host society" - lines 16-17).
Answer choice (C), by contrast, identifies a cultural ("supply side") aspect - the value certain immigrants place on work.
