Why is the correct answer D? A seems to be entirely supported by the passage as well...

The question says "currently" differ. Choice A talks about the differences in the Amazon during the glacial age, not currently. D does. Btw I'm not a teacher. I'm also a just a student studying for the LSAT, so I may not be right haha.

Hi @Nicholas-Badalamenti, thanks for your post. We are looking for textual support on this question, which asks what we know, currently, about how Amazon basin lowlands differ from uplands. The correct answer, (D), is textually supported by lines 37-38 ("in the Amazon lowlands are drier than uplands"). The problem with (A) is that it is describing what lowlands were like *during the ice ages* - see lines 39-40 ("during the ice ages the Amazon lowlands became a near-desert arid plain"). @nelson is exactly right. Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
