Why (D) is Incorrect

Hi LSATMax,
I understand why (E) is correct, but I am trying to understand why we are able to rule out (D). Is it because Dahl himself acknowledges that equality can not be fully realized? Therefore eliminating (D)? I want to make sure that my elimination thought process is correct.

Hello @Silvia,
I think your understanding of D is correct. Dahl never said that we can reach a perfect democracy, but he argued that a pluralist democracy is the best approximation. If something were to point out a flaw in this argument, it would say that the principle of equality can be fully realized. There is nothing in the third paragraph to suggest this. That paragraph simply introduces some criticism of polyarchy.
