I'm referring to the last sentence of the passage, in which the author laments the "primitive" concept of inferential errors that is based on the notions of lawyers over the research of psychologists. I think too extreme is a good way to describe answer choice E. If lawyers were unrealistic, that suggests to me that they would be entirely unaware of inferential errors made by juries. There is no support for this in the passage. Although they might not understand human cognition as well as psychologists, the fact that lawyers have notions about human cognition tells me that they are at least aware of these potential errors. Even though only judges are mentioned, line 49 says that the courts are well ware of inferential errors. This leads me to believe that lawyers are aware as well. After all of this, even if you do think that E could be inferred, you should still have chosen A. A has explicit support in that last sentence, making it a much stronger choice than E. Always choose what you can find in the text over what you must infer.

the last sentence that you are referring to is about judges. it starts out " Nonetheless, most judges now employee only a limited and primitive concept..." am I wrong?
