Why not answer D?

Hello- Why wouldn't answer D work? In both passages, it explains that Barite is used in drilling mud (passage a) and that is it used in Oil-based mud (passage b). Sounds as though it is commonly used in drilling mud.

    We know barite is common, but this is a far cry from it being the most common. Perhaps dirt, water, or oil are more common.
