E seems as right as B

Hi, Note than E isn't saying "keep tradition if there are two+ conflicting hypothesis", but rather "keep tradition if there are two+ conflicting hypothesis with it (conflicting with tradition)". There's only one hypothesis conflicting with tradition, the hypothesis that Homer didn't write them. The hypothesis that Homer wrote them is inline with tradition. Therefore, E doesn't get to conclude that we should defer to tradition because we don't have the sufficient condition of 2+ hypotheses conflicting with tradition. On the other hand, we meet the sufficient condition for B because the hypothesis that Homer didn't write them goes against tradition, so we shouldn't accept it without overwhelming evidence.
