I understand why the answer is E , but why not A. What makes A the wrong answer ?

    I think it's the fact that they said non traditional and traditional methods. The passage doesn't say the poet mixed nontraditional methods with traditional. The poet mixed two traditional methods to make a non traditional or new method.
