Why Adult "Q"

In this question the answer was D (Q in group 2). Yet K is in group one as well. How would I figure that K was not in group one? Thank you :)

@ElizabethGlassmann, happy to help! The answer to this question is (A) "G is in group 2." Answer choice (D) "Q is in group 2" is incorrect. We are told that F and S are in group 3. 1: __ __ __ 2: __ __ __ 3: F S __ Rule #2 tells us that F and J must be in the same group, so we should also place J in group 3. This fills the group. 1: __ __ __ 2: __ __ __ 3: F S J Rule #5 tells us that neither H nor T can be in group 2. Since we only have groups 1 and 2 open, this means that they must both be in group 1. 1: T H __ 2: __ __ __ 3: S F J Rule #3 says that G and T cannot be in the same group. Since T is in group 1, we place G in group 2. Rule #4 says that H and R cannot be in the same group. Since H is in group 1, we place R in group 2. 1: T H __ 2: R G __ 3: S F J Each group has one adult. We do not know where to place Q and K, as either could be in group 1 or group 2. Our final diagram is as follows: 1: T H (Q/K) 2: R G (K/Q) 3: S F J The only answer choice that is consistent with our diagram is (A), so it is correct. Does that make sense? Hope it helps!
