Question # 20: Doesn't make sense

If Q & S are in the Group 2, that means H & R are in Group 3 - the rule specifically states that H &R cannot be in the same group

    Hi @Amy, Thanks for the question! Let’s say that we put F in group 1 and Q and S in group 2. Does that mean H and R have to be in group 3? Well, look, we put F in group 1. That means that J is in group 1, which follows from rule 2. Since those are two children, we know that the last person in canoe 1 has to be an adult. We know H can’t be in group 2, so H has to be in group 3. Now what about R? Does it have to be in group 3? No. It can be in group 2. And so one can fill out the rest of the board to figure it out, but (E) is definitely possible and the correct answer. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

    Ok, I'll ask... My question is essentially the same. Above, you write "H has to be in Group 3." I agree. Since Group 1 is set (TFJ), and R has to be in Group 2 (since it can't be with H in Group 3)... So, we then have... G. ACC 1. TFJ 2. R?? 3. ??H There are only 4 adults, and only Q & S are left to place. How could they be in Group 2 with R? You would have... 1. TFJ 2. RQS 3. GKH??? Where's the adult? What happens to these kiddos when the canoe flips? I don't see how (E) is possible with Q&S in group 2.

    for the condition, F must be in the same group as J. Why must J also be in the same group as G. I originally wrote this down as If J -> then F. But the game setup has is as If J -> then F and If F -> then J. What is the logic for this?

    This is a difficult question for 8 minutes, setup (which always important). Adding a variable subscript of A/C or other designation depending on question, may be helpful for some.

    Next time I get one of these groups going into groups, will try ex. F-C, G-C....Q-A, or other designation that fits question
