I can not figure out the answer

I have Victor and Katie in Tuesday and Wednesday and Nancy can't be Monday and Iris and Henry can't be Monday without Nancy being Tuesday or Friday. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello! Rule #2 says "if Harry is on Monday then Nancy is on a Friday" and in the logic games video explanation it emphasizes to always write out the opposite, for example "if harry is NOT Monday then Nancy is NOT Friday." So how come Wednesday is an acceptable placement for Harry? Because if Harry is on Wednesday then the set up would be: V K H I N - but how is N allowed to be on Friday since H is not on Monday? Because the (opposite) rules says if H is not on Monday then N is not on Friday but Friday was put on N and it was correct. So I'm just confused. Maybe I shouldn't do the opposite thing bc it confuses me?

    I'm having trouble with Q3. Rule 3 says that if N is on Tues, then I is on Mon. If that, then wouldn't the correct answer in the video contradict the rule?

    Hey there, You're referring to writing the contrapositive, which isn't the opposite; rather, it's the logically equivalent statement. If Harry is on Monday, then Nancy is on a Friday. The contrapositive for this is If Nancy isn't on a Friday, then Harry isn't on a Monday Harry can go on Wednesday—that's a totally fine scenario, and if Harry's on Wednesday, it's fine if Nancy is on Friday. The reason for this is because the original rule is If Harry is on Monday, then Nancy is on a Friday Harry on Wednesday means that the sufficient condition (Harry on Monday) is failed. When the sufficient condition is failed, the rule falls away, so Nancy is free to go on Friday or on another day because the sufficient condition for the rule wasn't met. This is why the situation works. @JLE, If K is on Wednesday, we know that V is on Tuesday. We also know that if H is on M, then N is on Friday, leaving I for Thursday H V K I N However, what if H isn't on Monday? H could go on Thursday or Friday, trading off with N since N can't go Monday. This means that I would go on Monday on this board. I V K H/N In looking at these scenarios, we see that (C) is totally possible.
