@Louis you can watch the detailed video explanations for the setup and this specific question by tapping the ▶️ icon in the top right hand corner of the screen when viewing this question inside of LSATMax. You can view the question directly from the message board by tapping "View" on the top menu bar. Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

@lsatmax so how about E>H? I am confused about the two other placements. Thanks.

@Alex not sure I am understanding your question here. The question stem here established the following block: GPIR E > H must still hold as well but we do not know where E or H will actually go. Since this question is a "must be true" question, it is going to be based on what we have properly concluded in regards to GPIR. This block means that John will get at least one B and at least one D, so (C) is the correct answer. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I got the question correct but to clarify, why wasn't economics and history not necessarily needed to be placed in this question? Or in other words, why weren't economics and history not mandated to be placed in this question to get an accurate answer? Is it because they did not fit sequentially by the rules in the directed so they were required to be eliminated for the question?

In order to determine what must be true, we did not have to determine what grades he got in e or h. They could go in multiple places, but no matter where they go, C will be true.
