Hi, I am able to figure out how Glassen can be ranked fifth and seventh but I am not sure how he could be sixth. Please explain???

In order to see where G can go, it's easiest to think of where G can't go.
G has two people after it, so it can't go in 8 or 9. It has 4 people
before it, so it can't go in 1, 2, 3, or 4. This means it can go in 5,
6, or 7.
How do we know it can go in 6? There aren't any special rules about
the placement of L and N with respect to G, so this is why it could go
6th.

In the above board, G is 6th and all of the rules are satisfied.
