Hello,
I'm wondering how answer choice C could be true? How could there be a greater difference between cro-magnons and humans if "cro-magnons are the forerunners of modern humans?"
Thank you so much!

Hello @samlhoover,
One thing that the stimulus is trying to establish is that morphological differences aren't that important in determining species. The last sentence states that these morphological differences are simply a result of environment.
Remember that we need to stick to the information given in the passage. You may know something about evolution, but try not to bring in outside knowledge. We do not know how morphology and evolution are related. There could be a number of other non-morphological factors that make the cro-magnon the forerunner to the modern human. There is nothing in the stimulus that prevents C from being true. B, on the other hand, is in direct violation of the information given. If the two species lived in different environments, but faced the same challenges, then B cannot be true.
