Why a

You did a great explanation in the last thread of why it's not c. But can you explain why it is e? I actually guessed a wrong so I'm still confused. Is it because FL-> CEN & CEA = not CEN OR not CEA -> not FL And we don't have CEN so no FL? And a is possible since the stimulus doesn't say that the goal can only be reached if the followers are convinced of the necessity of their efforts?

@jacaroe (E) directly conflicts with the last sentence. "Only if they are convinced both that their efforts are necessary for the accomplishment of this goal, and that these efforts, if expended, will actually achieve it, will people follow a leader." FL ==> ENAG & AC (E) states, "Sometimes people who remain unsure of whether their efforts are needed for the attainment of a collective goal nevertheless follow a leader." FL ==> not ENAG This directly conflicts, i.e. sufficient without necessary, so (E) cannot be true. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Why is D not the correct answer? I get E, but I thought for D, people must be convinced to follow a leader, and thus accomplish a group goal

D could actually be true because doesn't mention anything about having a leader. People will not follow a leader without being convinced that they will succeed. However, they could meet collective goals in different ways without such convincing, so that's why it doesn't work.
