the diagram states

P3: PV ==> not ASIBSLLA
ASIBLLA ==> not PV"
my questions is regarding the "not", why is the negation with the ASIBSLLA and not the PV, to me it seems that it should be
not PV ==> ASIBSLLA
not ASIBLLA ==> PV
considering that the sentence clearly states "one does not find any prominent veterinarians" which shows that the negation is connected to the PV

Thanks for the question! So let’s try to rephrase this question in “if-then” language. If we wanted to rephrase it, it would best be rephrased “if someone’s seriously interested in biological science but lacks any special love for animals, then they won’t be a prominent veterinarian.” It’s not saying that if someone’s not a prominent veterinarian, then they are seriously interested in biological science but lack any special love for animals. That conditional doesn’t really make sense when you think about it. You can also think about rephrasing it as a “no” statement: “No prominent veterinarians are seriously interested in biological science but lack any special love for animals.” Either way, although the not is put next to the prominent veterinarians, we should diagram the “not” with the ASIBSLLA.
