Combining statements 1 & 3

I got the answer correct, but I’m confused by the explanation for the problem bc it says statements one and three can be combined. Aren’t Australian parrots different than parrots? How can they be combined then?

    Hi @bcross, Thanks for the question! So take a careful look at the first statement, that all parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases. Australian parents are a type of parrot, and so we can combine the statements in this sense: anything that applies to all parrots will apply to Australian parrots. Thus, we know that all Australian parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases, since all parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases, and Australian parrots are a subset of the overall parrot population.
