Does many mean some?

I have seen a lot of questions use the term many. But what does that mean because I usually get it wrong. I know many means a lot but does that mean most or some?

    Hi @mando.tamez, Happy to help! Many means some, although make sure that you do not focus on this term to the detriment of other S&N terms or quantifiers. Many means some because we cannot definitively conclude that the amount is more than half (or most). We know that it is more than none, but we cannot say for sure whether it is more than half. For example, let's say that we have 100 people. 40 people live on Maple Drive and 10 people live on each of Oak, Elm, Walnut, Beech, Aspen, and Pine Drives. We can say that many people live on Maple Drive as more people live on Maple Drive than on any other individual road. However, most people do not live on Maple Drive. Hope this helps!
