Large proportion?

Let's say our universe has 11 pieces of mail in it. Let's also say that 8 of those pieces of mail are correctly addressed. 5 of those 8 correctly addressed pieces of mail arrive within 2 days (most CA mail arrives within 2 days = true). That leaves 6 of the 11 pieces of mail to arrive in 3 days (most mail arrives in 3+ days = true). We then have only 3 pieces of mail that are incorrectly addressed (a large proportion of mail is incorrectly addressed = false?). Maybe I'm mistaken in thinking that a 'large proportion' needs to be at least half, but if it doesn't, what does a 'large proportion' mean?

    Yes, your mistake is assuming that "large proportion" means more than half. In your example, 27% of mail is incorrectly addressed. That would be a large proportion. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    If we are saying that a large proportion is not to be assumed as more than half, i.e. most, then why did you associate the most statements from the passage with the large proportion answer? What does "large proportion" mean with respect to the LSAT?
