Could you take sometime to explain the difference between C and D?

    Hi Kath, thanks for the question! Answer choice C is stating that new research shows that lichen-forming fungi are closely related to some species of algae. However, it is not that they are closely related to algae, it is that they are closely related to other known branches of fungi that were thought to be distinct. This is answer choice D. Hope this helps!
