Why was C not correct?

Hello @PeterF, The problem with C is that the author never makes a judgment about the play's aesthetic worth. She never says, "The play was a commercial failure, therefore it was not a beautiful play." I don't think that C is too specific. I think you may have made some extra assumptions beyond the scope of the passage. The author has simply misunderstood sufficient and necessary reasoning. Remember that a necessary condition can exist without its sufficient condition. Canceling the sufficient (success) does not affect the necessary (movie adaptation/Decade Festival).

I do not understand why E is the correct answer, please explain. I did do some diagramming, i don't know if I was supposed to, but based on the other answer choices, I think I wasn't supposed to.
